The last week of the exploratory stage has included not only animation, but a one day print and fashion workshop for the two groups of students. After half term this stage comes to end with the final assessment, it has been a very busy intensive seven weeks including one day workshops in 3-d, ceramics, textiles, photography, printing, graphics, illustration, painting, animation, visual journals, drawing, life drawing. Many thanks to all the staff for the workshops.
The group will then be moving into the pathway stage specialising in their chosen subject area.

Art Foundation Trip to London Sept'11
The last week of September we took the group of students off for the annual trip to London. A really good trip with lots of exhibitions and galleries packed into three days, including the Jerwood Space, Hayward Gallery, Welcome Collection, Design Museum, V& A, Origin Show and Saatchi Gallery.
The current exhibition at the Hayward on Southbank is we worth a visit.

First week of term 5th Sept- Visit to Carrow Road Museum
Our first week of term saw several visits to the Castle Museum and Carrow Road museum in Norwich for the students first project 'Collections.'
Both visits were very interesting with insightful tours and lectures. Thanks to Carrow House and the Castle staff, we really enjoyed the visits!

Wensum Lodge - An inspiring setting!
Located right on the river down King Street, the Art Foundation at Wensum Lodge is afforded a beautiful setting. The centre houses an atmospheric undercroft dating back to the middle of the 12th century. The Jurnet's House is the only surviving example of Norman twelfth century domestic architecture. A pretty inspiring setting to study art and design in! Here are a few pictures around the site to give you an idea...

Art Foundation- Introduction
Art foundation is a blogspace for the level 3 & 4 level Diploma in Foundation Studies Art, Design and Media based at Wenusm Lodge in Norwich, England.
This blog will give you an insight into the daily life of the this one year full time course. The course is an intense but an exciting year with lots happening.
